Put a ChatGPT agent in a Slack channel

OpenAI now lets organizations deploy ChatGPT workspace agents to Slack. An agent can answer channel questions, work with connected systems, produce files, respond on a schedule, or automatically join relevant public-channel conversations.

This is for paid Slack workspaces and Business, Edu, or Enterprise ChatGPT accounts. Admin setup is required, and the agent follows existing Slack permissions, so it can search only messages and files its user can access.

Turn a fragile spreadsheet into tested code

XDA writer Shivansh Raj Srivastava asked Claude to rebuild a deliberately complex Excel workbook in Python. The useful first move was inventory rather than conversion: 78,766 formulas collapsed into 469 distinct pieces of logic.

The workflow extracted raw data, moved each calculated sheet into a small module, and kept Excel as an answer key. After Claude fixed a holiday-list extraction error, the Python version matched 63,309 calculated cells across 15 sheets. This was a constructed test, not proof that a messy decade-old business workbook could be converted in 14 minutes.
