Claude Sonnet 5.5
Anthropic says Claude Sonnet 5.5 is a clear upgrade over Sonnet 5, running more than 30% faster and costing up to 30% less for most work.
The company positions it for well-scoped everyday tasks, bug fixes, and polished documents, slides and spreadsheets. Opus 5.5 remains its choice for complex, open-ended work that requires sustained judgment.
Sonnet 5.5 is available across Claude platforms, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure; developers can call it as claude-sonnet-5-5. Anthropic says higher-risk cybersecurity requests will fall back to Sonnet 5, while routine software development remains available.
Google Arts & Culture
Google has redesigned its Arts & Culture mobile app around conversational search, interactive experiments and expanded city guides.
Search accepts questions in your own words and pairs explanations with visuals and curated stories from partner archives. Google suggests subjects ranging from Caravaggio's use of light to Webb telescope images and cats in art.
The new homepage includes Chrono Look for virtually trying on historical attire and Dial-an-Artist for simulated conversations with historical figures. The refreshed app is rolling out globally, and its City Guide adds 27 destinations.
