Android adds more scam checkpoints
Google is rolling out new Android scam defenses across calls, texts, and chat apps. An optional Enhanced protection mode in Google Messages uses cloud Gemini models to assess the context and intent of conversations with unknown senders, while Private AI Compute keeps that analysis inaccessible to Google, according to the company.
The mode also uses on-device Gemini Nano and live web signals to assess unfamiliar links before you tap. Separate safeguards blank login and payment fields during screen sharing, block apps from quietly enabling call forwarding, and warn before manually entered forwarding codes take effect. Enhanced protection is due in the coming weeks.

Creator Khulan used Claude, Suno, and DaVinci Resolve to assemble a 43-second Seoul travel video. She first prepared a soundtrack, 47 clips, sound effects, visual references, and precise directions for the story, pacing, text, effects, and format.
Claude then reviewed the footage, mapped cuts to the music, built a color grade, placed effects, and returned an editable Resolve timeline. The first cut was not final: Khulan gave notes tied to specific moments, and the project reached its exported version after four rounds. It is a useful demonstration of handing timeline work to an agent while keeping creative direction and revision with the person.
